Team Boragó’s Visit to Baekyangsa
In connection with their collaboration with Evett and their visit to Korea for the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants awards ceremony, the Boragó team took a trip to Baegyangsa Temple in Jangseong, Jeollanam-do, two days before the Signature Session at Evett.
Baegyangsa’s Cheonjinam is renowned for its traditional Korean temple cuisine and is where Jeong Kwan, a renowned Buddhist monk known for her mastery of temple food, resides.
Although the Boragó team did not have the opportunity to meet Jeong Kwan in person, they were able to taste and learn about various fermented pastes and extracts under her care.
This visit provided a meaningful opportunity for the Boragó team to deepen their understanding of Korea’s traditional fermentation culture and share culinary philosophies between the two cultures. |
